A DIFFERENT SUMMER

It was a hot summer afternoon. Ollie and Jess Vaslam were having lunch in a small restaurant at the beach.At sometime Jess Vaslam went back to the hotel to change clothes.Mr and Mrs Mysterious hit her with a vase which was put on a small table outside the hotel room and kidnapped her. Ollie Vaslam saw that his wife was late and went to the hotel to look for her. He couldn't find her, so he called the police. His neighbours, Janet and Robert came along for help. They told the policemen that they saw a strange looking couple walking in the corridors of the hotel , looking curiously at the hotel numbers. Detective Freddie found some fingerprints on the vase. He took them to the lab and there they were identified. They belonged to Mr Mysterious. Detective Freddie traced Mr Mysterious and arrested him, but he couldn't find his wife and Mrs Vaslam.
Mrs Mysterious had escaped to Greece, taking Mrs Vaslam with her.They went to a hotel in Rhodes. Mrs |Mysterious hit a maid and tied her, put her in the storage room, and took her clothes and the masterkey. Then she took Mrs Vaslam and locked her in the wardrobe of a hotel room. Somebody opened the storage room door and found the maid. Soon the police came. Detective Freddie started to investigate the hotel. Mrs Mysterious found out what was happening soon enough, and she left the hotel, taking Mrs Vaslam with her. While they were walking they found an empty house in the country. Mrs Mysterious broke a window with a stone and they got in. She locked Mrs Vaslam into the kids' room, while she herself was busy planning a way out of the island. At the same time Mrs Vaslam was trying to find a way to escape. She found a metal toy car and broke it with her foot, and she slowly made it sharp. With that car she cut the ropes and found a flash light. She went near the window and she started making signals with it. A neighbour saw the flashes and got worried because he knew that the house was empty, so he called the police. The police arrived quickly and the police officers surrounded the house. Along with detective Freddie they entered through the garage door and they arrested Mrs Mysterious the moment she was trying to escape. They found Mrs Vaslam in the kids' room.
The moment they were taking them to the police cars the two women met. Then Mrs Vaslam asked Mrs Mysterious: "Why me ? Why did you kidnapped me in the first place?". Mrs Mysterious replied : " Because you have inherited a great fortune from your late aunt Mrs Valsam and we wanted to ask for ransom". "But I haven't inherited anything." said Mrs Vaslam, " and , after all my name is not VALSAM, it's VASLAM. You have kidnapped the wrong person ".
